My Thoughts on Life

Hey guys! I know it’s been a long time…thanks for sticking around despite my inactivity these past few weeks! Sometimes all we need is a good reset to get our motivation and inspiration flowing again. Anyways…today’s topic has been brewing in my head for a couple weeks now, so I’m just gunna get right to it, eh? πŸ˜‰

Life is like a really, really, really long year with seasons that change–whether we want them to or not. Some seasons of life are like winter. It’s fun at first, with the snow and all…but after some time, things start to feel dry. Frostbite. Chapped lips. Dry skin. But sometime ago, my godfather reminded me that in the winter, not everything is dead. A lot of times, there’s still life under the snow and the ice and the bitter cold blanket draped around everything.

And then it happens. You don’t know when and how exactly, but sooner or later, you find the ice has melted. The dry cold is gone, and the beauty of life is in the air. It’s springtime. The flowers bloom. There’s new life. What was once thought to be dead is suddenly alive again. But see the thing is, even the springtime gets messy. The ground gets muddy because the ice has just melted. And though there’s new life, no one really acknowledges the pain of birthing something–whether it’s an animal or a human being. So spring has its highlights, yes. But it also has its…downlights. (For the record, if that isn’t a word, well then I guess I just invented one didn’t I? πŸ˜‰)

So anyway, one day you wake up, and it’s warmer than spring. You feel the sun hot as ever? So you head to the beach. And things feel way better than the previous season…for a while. Eventually the heat becomes unberable. Too much sun, and the ground dries up. Your skin burns. Everything’s hot to the touch. In certain places, it even gets hard to breathe. In the summer, there’s thirst. There comes a time when everything feels like it’s begging for water. Then all of a sudden, the cold that was hated before is longed for now.

Fast forward. Fall comes. It’s not scorching hot and it’s not freezing. The leaves are falling from the trees in colors that make almost every photo you take Instagram worthy. But in the beauty of the colors, no one realizes that the trees which used to be full of the color of life, are bare now. There’s an eerie feel when you go for a stroll at night because the bare branches cast grotesque shadows on the ground.

All that to say…every season of life has its pros and cons. Ups and downs. Mountains and valleys. Nice moments and not so nice moments. You get the picture. Lately I’ve come to a place where I’ve been more ready to embrace whatever “season” of life I’m in instead of fighting it. Sometimes life gets hard, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be that way forever. Because life changes. Just like the seasons.

And with that, have a great Tuesday, everyone! ❀😁

Funny story for you: A few days ago, my brother wanted to annoy me, so he read the very last page of the book I was reading and threatened to spoil it. Yup. That’s how much of a bookworm I am. And I am proud of it! πŸ˜‚

Also, hey guess what?! I’m on Instagram now too! Come say hi! πŸ˜

Welcome back! I’ve recently discovered that these blogging breaks really are necessary.

Looks like you’ve retained your ability to sculpt well written prose. Looking forward to seeing what new adventures you’ll be taking us on!
